FROM THE HEAD OF DEPARTMENT

The Department of Ceramics and Glass Design was established in 1997 within the Faculty of Fine Arts at Sakarya University and commenced education in 2000.

The Ceramics and Glass Department, affiliated with the Institute of Social Sciences, began offering Master's degrees in 2009 and Proficiency in Art in 2024.

During the four-year undergraduate program, students are trained to become well-equipped individuals in artistic and industrial fields, tailored to their preferences. Our curriculum, which supports interdisciplinary learning, allows students to choose their areas of expertise through the faculty and the university's elective course options.

The Department of Ceramics and Glass contributes to the education and training of our students with its specialized faculty in artistic ceramics, industrial ceramics, and glass art, as well as its well-equipped workshop facilities.

Graduates of the Department of Ceramics and Glass, equipped with advanced technology, can work as designers in the industrial ceramics, porcelain, and glass industry and as freelance ceramic artists in the artistic field. Students who complete their undergraduate program can work as academics in the Ceramics and Glass Departments of various universities in Turkey and abroad while pursuing a master's degree and/or an art proficiency program.

We aim to develop students through theoretical and practical training to become competent, productive individuals who contribute to their communities.
