Mission
The purpose of the training is to train contemporary artist candidates who have universal ideas and values of art by providing setting and opportunities for students to develop their knowledge and skills in the field of ceramics.
Vision
Ceramics Art and Industry, consisting of art, design and technology, is one of the 5 largest markets in Turkey and is one of the 10 largest markets of the world. Our, graduates who can find businesses opportunities as designers or managers in Ceramic-Porcelain and Glass fields which are the fastest growing industries in our country, can also continue their professional career as free ceramic artists and designers or specialize as an academician.
Facilities Provided by the Department
Department students can double major in Traditional Turkish Arts (Tile Design and Repair, Carpet, Rug and Traditional Fabric Patterns, Calligraphy, Illumination) and Painting departments.
Special interest courses are also available in the fields of Artistic Ceramic Design and Industrial Ceramic Design to help students find their areas of interest. ERASMUS agreements are with Spain, Italy, Latvia and Portugal, and MEVLANA agreement is with Kazakhstan. The department also has agreements with various universities in Turkey under the FARABİ program.
